The sister-city partnership between the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly and Neu-Isenburg from Germany has led to the installation of Renewable Energies with Photovoltaic Systems in 24No.schools and 3No.Health care facilities across the Municipality.
In this regard, the Assembly on Tuesday, 8th July,2025, organized a training and sensitization workshop for two Officers each from the beneficiary institutions at the Municipal Assembly’s Conference Hall.
The training program was aimed at equipping the individuals with the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively utilize and maintain the solar panel solutions.
In his opening remarks, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Adu Boateng, said the training program will help the participants gain a deeper understanding of the solar panel installation and its maintenance.
He urged the participants to take the training serious and actively participate in the discussions.
On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive of Kwadaso, Hon.Eric Asibey, informed the participants that, the installation of the solar power system for selected schools and Health facilities aims to reduce over reliance on the national grid and also promote renewable energy.
He emphasized the importance of proper maintenance culture for the solar panels given their cost and importance to the beneficiary institutions.
In a power point presentation, the Contractor for the project, Nyankonton Solar Energy Products Limited, represented by Nana Yaa Boatemaa, led an engaging session, taking participants through key topics including, Solar Panel Installation,System Components, and Maintenance.
Mr Kofi Karikari, Coordinator (Municipal Climate Change Partnership) FKKP Project Manager, reiterated the importance of the solar energy installation and shared some successes chalked since the start of the Partnership Program.
Officers from the beneficiary institutions including, Agric Nzema S.H.S, Methodist Technical Institute, Kwadaso SDA Basic School,Apatrapa Health Centre, Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School, Takyiman Health Centre, and Nyankyerenease Methodist JHS took part in the training workshop.
The training program was coordinated by the Municipal Planning Officer, Mr Isaac Kyeremateng.
