KWADASO MCE MEETS CHURCH LEADERS.


The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, Hon.Eric Asibey, has on Wednesday 11th June 2025, held a meeting to engage with the Local Council of Churches at the Municipal Assembly’s Conference Hall.

The meeting was geared towards a collaboration between the Assembly and the faith based Organizations in promoting peace,Security and soliciting their support in addressing critical issues including youth unemployment, indiscipline among the youth and payment of property rates among others.

In his opening remarks, the MCE,Hon.Eric Asibey expressed his happiness for the opportunity to engage with the men of God and thanked them for honouring his invitation.

He appealed to the church leaders to encourage their members to pay their property rates as its a crucial source of revenue for the Assembly.

The MCE then assured the leaders the Assembly will utilize the property rates revenue towards projects that would benefit the municipality.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Adu-Boateng in welcoming the leaders explained the decentralization process that has resulted in the municipality getting a new Chief Executive and called for support for the new MCE.

The MCD also took the men of God through the processes in acquiring a building permit and urged them to acquire one for their church buildings.

The Municipal Marriage Registrar, Mrs Abigail Sam, also informed the men of God that, it is now a requirement under the law for Pastors and churches to get a permit from the Assembly and also be gazetted before officiating a marriage at their church premises.

The Registrar outlined the requirements for the gazzett of the churches as having the following; building permit, certificate of registration,fire certificate, washrooms, and proper hygienic conditions.

The church leaders were given the opportunity to ask questions and offer suggestions during an open forum.

The MCE,MCD and the Marriage Registrar duly answered all the questions that were raised.

In response, the church leaders lauded the MCE and his team for the engagement and pledged their unflinching support for the new MCE.

The meeting was well attended by Representatives from the Local Council of churches including the Presbyterian Church, the Church of Pentecost, Assemblies of God,Church of Christ, Baptist Church and other “one man” churches.
