The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly on Wednesday 28th May, 2025 commemorated this year’s menstrual hygiene day at Apatrapa R/C Catholic Church.
The purpose of this initiative is to create awareness and educate adolescent girls on proper menstrual hygiene.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Kwadaso,Hon Eric Asibey thus joined the Social Welfare Department, the Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Education Service in observing this year’s event which was on the theme “Period Friendly World ” (Ghana).
In an address to commemorate the day, the MCE said, the awareness creation and the public education is to equip the girl child with the requisite knowledge in personal hygiene practices.
Hon Eric Asibey together with the officers from the other departmemts distributed sanitary pads to adolescent girls in some selected schools across the municipality.
In attendance were Nananom, SHEP Coordinators,Staff from the Assembly, Teachers and Parents.
