PRESIDENT MAHAMA LAUNCHES ONE MILLION CODERS PROGRAM


The President, John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday 16th April,2025 launched the One Million Coders program in Accra, with simultaneous pilot training sessions in four regions, namely, Ashanti, Bono and Upper East.

The program is aimed at equipping one million Ghanaian youth with digital coding skills, provide training in software development and job creation.

In Ashanti region, the program was launched at the the Regional Digital Centre located at Edwenase in the Kwadaso Municipality.

At the launch, the Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Digitals Centres, Mr Dzifa Gunu, appealed to the trainees in the one million coders program to take the program serious stressing the importance of acquiring digital skills free of charge.

He also urged the managers of the facility and the trainees to take good care of the facility and the equipment to ensure the program’s sustainability.

The program was attended by various stakeholders including Nana Nkansah Boadu Wioso, the Edwenasehene,and his Elders, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Hon. Ernest Frimpong , the National Democratic Congress( NDC) Constituency Chairman, Mr Moro Issah, the Ashanti Regional Digital Center Director, Mr Bawa Mohammed, NDC Constituency Executives and the general public.
