In line with the Internal Audit Agency’s mandate of coordinating, facilitating and providing quality assurance for internal audit activities in Public Sector Institutions, a four (4) member monitoring team from the Internal Audit Agency has on Tuesday 18th February, 2025, visited the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly.
The visit was to monitor and evaluate the Assembly on the Follow Up and Performance Review of Audit Committees, Status of Implementation on Audit recommendations, Data Collection for Public Financial Management Compliance League Table(PFMCLT) and evaluation of the Internal Audit Unit.
The four member monitoring team was led by Mr. Patrick Vug Nanke and accompanied by Mrs. Gloria Myers, Paul Agyei and Victor Ackah.
At an exit conference with the Heads of Departments/Units , Mr Nanke explained that, the PFMCLT is an innovative tool that assesses and ranks the Financial Management Compliances of all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the country.
The audit identified some areas for rectification in the Assembly’s financial management and compliance.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Adu Boateng, thanked the team and reiterated the Assembly’s cherished relationship with the Audit Unit and promised to equip the unit with the needed resources to ensure they effectively carry out their duties
In attendance at the exit conference was the Municipal Internal Auditor, Mrs Hanatu Sumaila, Heads of Departments/ Units of the Assembly and staff of the Internal Audit Unit.
