NDC CHAIRMAN VISITS KWADASO WOOD MARKET FIRE VICTIMS


The Kwadaso Constituency Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Issah Moro , together with his constituency organizer, Mr Peter Bogrebon and some party executives on Wednesday 22nd January,2025, paid a commiseration visit to traders affected by the recent Kwadaso Wood Market fire outbreak.

Traders at the wood market were recovering from an earlier fire outbreak which occurred on 4th January, 2025, the market was hit with another fire on Saturday 19th January, 2025 causing massive destruction to properties and further worsening the plight of traders.

Addressing the Executives of the market and some affected traders, the chairman on behalf of his Regional Chairman and the Ashanti Regional Minister designate expressed their concern about the negative impact of the fire on the victims and assured them of his party’s support and prayers during these hard times.

He said he came to ascertain the extent of damage and pledged a substantial support from the party to the affected traders.

The market executives expressed their profound gratitude to the NDC chairman for the visit and pledged their corporation for any investigation aimed at curtailing such unfortunate incident in the future

A committee has been set up to liase with the Ghana National Fire Service to launch a full investigation into the cause of the fire outbreak and present their report to the assembly.
The Chairman was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Adu Boateng and some officials of the Assembly including the Presiding Member and Assembly Member for Kwadaso North, Hon. Ernest Frimpong, the Assembly Member for Kwadaso South, Hon. Richard Tutu, the Municipal Planning Officer, the Municipal Engineer and the Municipal Information Officer.
