The Kwadaso Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education(NCCE) on Wednesday
20th November, 2024 held a dialogue for Parliamentary Candidates (PC) in the Kwadaso Constituency to outline their developmental agenda for the constituency in the upcoming general election.
The event which was held at the Kwadaso Presbyterian Church of Ghana was aimed at promoting issued-based campaign and fostering understanding among political parties for a peaceful elections.
Mr Eric Osei Asibey, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Kwadaso and Mr David Akwasi Adongo of the People’s National Convention(PNC) participated in the debate while Professor Kingsley Nyarko, the New Patriotic Party(NPP) PC and incumbent MP for Kwadaso could not make it as he was engaged in a national assignment in Accra.
The two parliamentary candidates debated on issues that bothered on Employment, Health, Agriculture, Roads and the economy.
The two candidates pledged their commitment in ensuring an incident free election.
In her address, the Kwadaso Municipal Director of the NCCE, Mad. Mavis Achiaa Poku , called on all the participants to avoid electoral violence and focus an issue-based campaign rather than using vulgar languages and inducements.
The Kwadaso constituency returning officer of the Electoral Commission, Mr Danish Rahim, reaffirmed the EC’s commitment to conduct a free, fair and peaceful elections.
On the part of the Security Agencies,DSP. Frank Adjei Mintah, the District Commander also promised the role of the security agencies in maintaining peace before, during and after the elections.
The event was attended by members of the Inter Party Dialogue Committee(IPDC), the MCE for Kwadaso, Hon. Richmond Agyenim-Boateng, MCD, Mr. Francis Adu Boateng, religious leaders, Nananom, political party Executives and Supporters, Security Personnel, some Assembly Members, Students among others.
