As part of efforts to promote menstrual health and personal hygiene, the Gender Desk Officer of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has from Wednesday 13th November, 2024 to Friday 15th November 2024, successfully distributed about 850 sanitary pads to female students in junior high schools in the Kwadaso Municipality.
The initiative forms part of measures to address the needs of the girl child as they go through their menstrual cycle and to also promote good personal hygiene among the girls during menstruation.
The Gender Desk Officer, Mrs Agnes Amoateng was accompanied by the Deputy Director, Mrs Margaret Ofosuhene, the Assistant Director, Mad. Rita Opoku Agyemang, Mad.Agnes Taku, Asst. Director, some Assembly members and other officials to donate the sanitary pads across several junior high schools in the municipality.
The beneficiary schools included, Agric MA JHS, Nwamase MA JHS, Ohwemase Anglican JHS,Kwadaso MA JHS, Kwadaso SDA JHS, Asuoyeboah MA JHS and Tanoso Anglican JHS.
