The Human Resource Department of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Ghana Statistical Service has on Wednesday 16th to Thursday 17th October, 2024,organized a two-day training workshop for Statistics Focal Persons of the Assembly on Administrative Data at the Municipal Assembly’s Conference Hall.
The aim of the training was to equip the Officers with the requisite statistical capacity to enable them collate relevant administrative data to help in their work plans and reports.
The training was to also enhance the use of data for proper planning and decision-making.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Adu Boateng in his opening remarks thanked the Ghana Statistical Service for organizing the training and encouraged the participants to put whatever they learn into good use.
The facilitator,Mr Samuel Akrofi Darko,a Senior Statistician,took the participants through a number of topics such as;Introduction to Data Quality,Data life Cycle,Data Handover,Components of Quality Data,Using Excel on Data Management and Data Validation.
Participants were drawn from the the following institutions;the Statistical Department, Department of Agric,Ghana Education Service, Ghana Health Services,Environmental Health Department,Planning Unit, Social Welfare Department, Urban Roods, Forestry Commission,NEDCO/ECG/VRA,Business Advisory Centre,Community Water and Sanitation Agency and the Department of Labour.
Present at the training workshop were the Ashanti Regional Statistician, Mr Richard Sackey,the Municipal Statistician and some selected Heads of Departments.
