The Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area(GKMA)on Thursday 16th November 2023,handed over 4 out of 13 modern toilet facilities being constructed in schools and health facilities across the Municipality to the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly.
The 9 other facilities are all at the final stages of completion.
These 4 facilities that were handed over to the Assembly consist of 8 toilet facilities for boys and girls,disability rooms,male and female toilets for teachers, store rooms,mechanized borehole with a 10000 litre water storage tank and a waste shed.
The beneficiary schools were also provided with cleaning equipment such as mob sticks, buckets,brooms,litter bins,T-rolls and detergents.
The beneficiary schools were Atwima Amanfrom SDA School,Nyankyerenease Methodist JHS,Apatrapa R/C Primary and Apatrapa R/C JHS.
In attendance at the handing over ceremony were a team from GKMA,the Project Consultant, Contractors and other officials from World Bank.
The team from the Assembly were also led by the MCE,Hon.Richmond Agyenim -Boateng and accompanied by the Municipal Planning Officer,the Municipal Education Director, the Municipal Environmental Officer, Convener for Works Sub-committee,SHEP Coordinator and Hon.Assembly Members for the areas visited.
The MCE has promised to immediately commission these projects so the schools can start using them.
