In order to protect public health and food security, the Environmental Health Department of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has embarked on a swift action to seize and appropriately dispose off expired products found in several retail shops across the Municipality.
A substantial quantity of expired products such as water,assorted biscuits, canned drinks, tin tomatoes, maggi cubes, spices, coffees, rice and oil were confiscated during the 15 to 20 days exercise.
The Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Mrs Genevieve Anthony who led the exercise also inspected the Health Screening certificate of food vendors/handlers and also ensured they were maintaining good personal hygiene .
Staff of the Environmental Health Department, security guards, revenue officers and lab technicians took part in the exercise.
