The Chief Justice of the Republic Of Ghana, Kwasi Annin-Yeboah has on
Monday, 27th February, 2023, commissioned an ultra-modern circuit court at Edwenase in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The court was funded by the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development in collaboration with the
District Assemblies Common Fund Secretariat.
The new facility has been fully fitted with a mechanized Borehole, a Registrar’s Office, Docket room, Bailiffs section and a standby Generator for uninterrupted power supply.
The new court also comes with a residence for the judge which is situated at Atwima Takyiman in the Kwadaso Municipality.
The inauguration was attended by the Chief Justice, Kwasi Annin-Yeboah, the
M.C.E for Kwadaso, Hon. Richmond Agyenim-Boateng. Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel Ntoso, Suame Divisional Police Commander, Mr. Owusu, Nana Nkansah Ababio, Edwenase Wioso Hene, who also chaired the programme and Obaapayin Nana Achia Tiwaa. Others included the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Hon. Samuel Gyasi, the Clergy, Imams, Hon. Assembly Members, Traditional Leaders, N.P.P. party faithfuls and Staff of the Assembly and some Members of the Judiciary who accompanied the Chief Justice.
The Chief Justice, in his speech thanked Nana Nkansah Ababio, Edwenase Wioso
Hene for releasing his land for the project.

He also praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his immense
investment in the justice delivery of the Nation especially in the area of
infrastructure.
He said, the construction of this new Court is part of the Government’s
Commitment to construct 100 courthouses with bungalows for Judges and
Magistrates across the length and breadth of the country.
The Chief Justice advised Chiefs to desist from handling criminal matters at their
palaces as that was the sole prerogative of the courts.
He tasked the Judicial Service Staff who would be posted to the court to see the
facility as their own property and take good care of it.
Hon. Richmond Agyenim-Boateng, M.C.E for Kwadaso, said the establishment of
the court in the Municipality will improve the justice delivery system in the
Municipality as most criminal cases are sent to other jurisdictions for trials.
He said the commissioning of the court was a huge relief for the Assembly as it
will help bring justice delivery to the doorsteps of the people in the community,
hitherto send their cases to Asokwa, Twedie and Akropong to seek justice.
The M.C.E commended the President, the Ministry of Local Government,
Decentralization and Royal Development and Chief Justice for establishing a court
in the Municipality.
He said the establishment of the court signifies the President’s commitment to the
rule of law and access to justice.
On his part, Nana Nkansah Ababio, Edwenase Wioso Hene, who was the
Chairman of the event, commended the Chief Justice and the Municipal Assembly
for providing a decent and safe environment for justice delivery in the
municipality.
He urged the Presiding Judge to deliver justice with integrity and not engage in any
activity that will bring his office into disrepute.
He encouraged the Judge and workers of the court to be firm but fair and treat all
the people who come to seek for justice equally irrespective of their financial
status.
Nana Nkansah Ababio appealed to the Chief Justice to consider the youth in the
Municipality for recruitment in case of a job vacancy in the new facility.
