The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Hon. Richmond Agyenim-Boateng has on Friday 13th January, 2023 visited five (5) Public Basic Schools in the Municipality as part of the “My first Day at School” programme instituted by the government some years ago.
The programme allows officials from the Assembly and the Education Directorate to welcome fresh entrants of Kindergarten and primary one pupils to school and encourage them to attend school frequently.
The MCE was accompanied on his visit by the Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Grace Ofosu-Boateng, Mr. Joseph Asiedu, Asst. Director at the Assembly, Mr. Faucett Kwakwa, Head of Supervision and Monitoring at the Education Directorate, Mr. Isaac Oppong, responsible for Examinations, Mr. Abraham Quaye, School Improvement and Support Officer and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Eric Nti Boateng.
The MCE distributed assorted drinks and biscuits to motivate and welcome the fresh pupils.
Interacting with the teachers and fresh pupils in the various schools visited, Hon. Richmond Agyenim-Boateng urged the kids to learn hard to be able to achieve their future aspirations.
He encouraged them to always come to school and listen to whatever their teachers tell them in order to become useful persons to themselves, their families and society as a whole.
The MCE then pleaded with the teachers to discharge their duties with passion and assist in moulding the kids under their care to become responsible citizens in the future.
He assured the teachers that, government on his part will supply them with the needed logistics and promised that, all the challenges they have raised will be addressed in due course.
On her part, the Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Grace Ofosu-Boateng, conscientised the kids to see themselves as the next MCE, Education Director, teacher, nurse, soldier, police officer etc. to help build the nation when the current leaders are no more. She advised them to be obedient and respectful to their teachers.
She stressed the need for teachers to live exemplary lives for the kids to follow suit since children pick up good and bad habits from their immediate environment.
The schools visited were, Central Agric Primary and K.G, Nwamase M/A Primary and K.G, Atwima Amanfrom SDA K.G and Primary, Ohwimase Anglican K.G and Primary and Ohwimase M/A Primary A and B.
However, all the other Public Basic schools in the Municipality were also visited by staff of the Education Directorate to mark the day.
