DEPUTY MINISTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT, DECENTRALISATION AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO KWADASO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY.

 

As part of his tour in the Ashanti Region, The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim (MP) has today Friday August 26, 2022 paid an official working visit to the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly.The visit among other things was to assess the Assembly’s performance on the flagship programmes and policies rolled up by the NPP Government in the area of Health, Education and Agriculture.

The MCE, Hon. Richmond Agyenim Boateng welcomed the Deputy Minister and commended him for taking time off his tight schedule to visit the Municipality.Heads of Department for Health, Education and Agriculture took turns to make a brief power point presentation on their achievements about the Government flagship programmes and policies.In a brief speech after the presentation, Hon. Collins Ntim said, he and his substantive Minister, Hon. Dan Botwe has decided to visit all Assemblies to fully acquaint themselves with how far the Assemblies have implemented the flagship programmes and policies of the Government.The Minister was impressed with the performance of the Assembly but was quick to appeal to the Health and Education Directorate to collaborate and bring down the high rate of teenage pregnancy in the Municipality.He again appealed to the Health Directorate to as a matter of urgency deal with the issue of still birth in the Municipality.On Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD), the Minister urged the Agric Director to give more attention to the programme to ensure more people benefit from it.The Hon. Assembly Members through the Presiding Member, Hon. Samuel Kwaku Gyasi appealed to the Minister to put pressure on the contractor working on the Assembly’s Block Complex to speed the completion of the project.

The PM said the completion of the project will ease the office accommodation challenges facing the various departments in the Municipality.In his closing remarks, the MCE, Hon. Richmond Agyenim Boateng expressed appreciation to the Minister for his visit and assured him of the Assembly’s commitment in fulfilling the programmes and policies of the Government.He acknowledged their shortfall and promised the Minister to work on it with the various stakeholders.The MCE wished the Minister well as he continues his familiarization tour to other Assemblies.The Presiding Member, Hon. Samuel Kwaku Gyasi, Chiefs, Assembly Members, Heads of Departments and staff of the Municipal Assembly were present.
