The winners of the 2022 “School Health Club Quiz” on Monday 8th August 2022 presented the trophy to the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Hon. Richmond Agyenim Boateng at a brief ceremony at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly.The gesture was to officially inform the MCE of the feat chalked by the school and to thank him for his support. The winning schools were led by the Kwadaso Municipal Director of Education Mrs. Grace Ofosu Boateng. Present at the ceremony were the Presiding Member, Hon. Samuel Kwaku Gyasi, contestants, teachers from both schools and some students of the schools. Presenting the award, the Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Grace Ofosu Boateng, said she was grateful to the head teachers and staff of both Tanoso Anglican “C” Primary School and Denkyenmuoso M.A. JHS for their effort on this great achievement. She thanked the MCE for his continuous support to the education directorate. Addressing the delegation, the MCE congratulated the two schools for emerging champions in the Quiz competition and asked them not to rest on their oars. He advised the students to take their studies seriously and continue to study hard with discipline and not be complacent about the feat.
BACKGROUND
The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate with funding support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Wednesday, 27th July, 2022, has organized a “School Health Club Quiz” competition for selected schools in the Kumasi Metro, Asokore Mampong and Kwadaso Municipality at GNAT Hall, Kumasi.In the Primary category, Tanoso Anglican Basic “C” in the Kwadaso Municipality emerged winners beating Yusifiya Primary School and New Amakom Primary A to second and third place respectively. Denkyenmuoso M.A JHS also in the Kwadaso Municipality won the Junior High category followed by Abdul Samed Islamic and Asem Islamic JHS in that order.For their prize, al the competing schools received cash prizes, books, pens, veronica buckets, school bags and the winners been given trophies in addition.
